Pendlewood nominated for “the Oscars of the Business World”!

Pendlewood are celebrating after our record breaking year of achievement was recognised with a nomination for a prestigious business award.

We have beaten off hundreds of competitors to be nominated for the inaugural “Small Business of the Year” award at the highly respected BIBA’s (Be Inspired Business Awards), which are widely regarded as the premier business event in Northern England.

The terrific achievement means that Pendlewood will now go to the glamorous black-tie awards ceremony at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on March 12, where we will compete with five other nominees to take home the much vaunted prize.

It tops off what has been an amazing 12 months for the company. Despite the severe recession both turnover and sales have soared by around 20% year on year – and are up by around 60% over a three year period!

Alan Pendlewood, Managing Director, was thrilled with the nomination and thinks it is a richly deserved accolade.

He beamed: “To be nominated for such a prestigious award is a tremendous fillip for the whole company. While it would be amazing to win on the night, to simply be recognised by the sharp business minds that run BIBA is good enough for me. The team we now have here is the best I’ve ever worked with in my 30 year career and I think that this is just the beginning of the Pendlewood success story.”

BIBA’s Chief Executive, Babs Murphy, has described the BIBA’s as “the one they all want to win”, and she thinks that this year’s competition has cemented itself as the biggest and best awards¬† programme in the region. She said: “The support of the BIBA’s has been phenomenal and has completely outstripped our expectations. We’re very much looking forward to celebrating the best of Lancashire’s business on March 12.”

Last year’s star studded ceremony was hosted by camp funnyman Julian Clary, while other big name celebs in attendance included X-Factor flop Rhydian. It is promised that this year’s bash will be a similarly star studded event too. Be sure to check back here at www.pendlewood.com for a full report and pictures from the night… and who knows, possibly even of us celebrating being the¬† ‘Small Business of the Year’!
