Pendlewood
has played a key part in the outdoor area of a new Pathfinder school in
Wigan, after designing and installing some sensational seating for the site.
The Abraham Guest High School in Wigan is moving from its current premises to
an ultra-modern £23m new site later this year and in order to ensure that the
children have amazing seating as well as brand new buildings, Pendlewood was
called in!
We have added some of our fantastic seating and planters range to the site,
which will include a primary school and a library as well as Abraham Guest
High, meaning that the huge pathfinder project will be serving an entire local
community.
The Pendlewood products featured include:
· The ever-elegant ER Bench - high quality seating for pupils, staff, visitors and the community in
general.
· The versatile Piper
Benches & Picnic Table Sets - Ideal for pupils to sit, relax and enjoy
lunch breaks or alternatively to study in a peaceful outdoor environment.
· Innovative Bespoke Planter seating - bringing nature and colour to the grounds.
As you can see from the surrounding images, Pendlewood's products are forming
the centre piece of the contemporary outdoor grounds.
Wigan MBC's Cllr Susan Loudon, the council's champion for education, has said
about the project: "This is the flagship site for the Wigan Schools for
the Future project. Children deserve cutting edge schools for the very best
education."
Graham Payne, Premises Manager Quotes
"As part of the Pathfinder project the design team and Abraham Guest High School had a vision for robust, durable and aesthetic outside seating areas.
We found Pendlewood could meet our bespoke design requirements and supply us with a product that not only looked the part but would withstand heavy everyday usage within a school environment.
Following on from our initial design brief and tour of the factory to view various design ideas, we found Pendlewood to be very helpful and amenable, producing drawings and specifications that more than met our aspirations to fulfil our project requirements"
"The finished product is now in place and looks great, it is well utilised by pupils, staff and visitors giving an excellent facility that enhances our school building"
