Holland Moor Primary, Skelmersdale

Holland Moor Primary School, based just a mile away from our very own HQ, in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, has over the past 12 months entered a development partnership with Pendlewood that has really benefitted both parties.

This partnership is part of a desire on Pendlewood's behalf to find schools that are keen to work together with us to help us advance our product range. This enabled Holland Moor to have a redeveloped playground with all their products - including the flagship Play and Climb structure the Robin Hood - at reduced prices and includes other benefits such as free maintenance checks as well as the chance to develop bespoke products specific to the school, new ideas and projects.

Indeed one such event was when the school held a competition to design a planter - with the promise that the winner would have their design developed by Pendlewood's expert team into a product and would be displayed in the school grounds.

The winner was 8 year old Tom Anderson and his creation has been developed into our highly successful Star Planter (see picture below). Tom and his two friends Adam and Aaron were also treated to a tour of the Pendlewood workshop and offices - and were even allowed (under strict supervision!) to help construct the product.

A variety of other products, including a Square Tree Seat and the striking Ergo Planter have been added to the grounds, while plans are already underway for another epic ‘play and climb' structure to compliment the Robin Hood. Holland Moor Headteacher Mike Beale is absolutely thrilled with the Pendlewood products. He said: "The new equipment has dramatically broadened and extended the play and educational opportunities that we offer our children.
