Inverclyde Council, Greenock
Pendlewood's award winning reputation has
spread across the UK and we recently made an impression north of the border
with two large installations at brand new schools in Scotland!
The two schools in question were the All
Saints Primary School and Aileymill Primary School, both in the pretty coastal
town of Greenock, which is situated around 25 miles west of Glasgow. Both
needed a variety of quality seating for their pristine, contemporary premises
and Pendlewood were delighted to get the go ahead to create quality seating
with a stylish, modern vibe!
Pendlewood installed an diverse mix of our
school based seating range, as well as some of our contemporary street
furniture range - a long time favourite with architects and higher education
colleges alike.
As you can see from the surrounding images,
the vast array of seating includes some of our most popular designs such as
benches form our popular Piper range, a Storyteller's bench, the Hissing Sid,
Rhino benches and the crown jewel of our seating range - the Serpent Bench.
The Aileymill Primary is a state-of-the art
site that will house over 400 pupils from three schools that have now merged as
part of a £78 million PPP (Public-Private Partnership) schools programme that
is revitalising education for Scotland. All Saints Primary is a similar project
from the same scheme and will play host to 495 pupils from two (now defunct)
schools.
Matt Benians, Director
of TGP, the project architects for the build, said Pendlewood's reputation for
quality secured the prestigious job. He said: "Pendlewood has a complementary
range of products which lend themselves to school projects and most importantly
for us when choosing products for school grounds, the robustness in the
finished article - which doesn't compromise the appearance of the product."
