Oxford Grove Primary School, Bolton
Oxford Grove Primary
School had a small area of their grounds which was derelict. They had long
wanted to do something with the area but had considered it too small for any
major redevelopment and didn't really know what to go with it in any case!
Luckily they came across Pendlewood ...
After Oxford Grove
teacher Mrs. Hart met with Pendlewood MD Alan, it was clear that something
could be done to give the pupils and staff of the Bolton Primary School an
educational play area to be proud of.
Our design team got to work immediately and
decided upon a natural nature area, which would combine 3 crucial factors;
There would be a play element for the pupils, there would be an eco-friendly
and educational theme (in order to fit in with the government's new learning
outside the classroom manifesto) and also an area where the children would be
able to sit and socialise.
As you can imagine the staff and pupils of Oxford Grove were absolutely delighted with the finished article... In fact they even composed a poem for Pendlewood as a thank you!
"Imagination, creativity and flair,
Pendlewood was always there.
With exciting ideas we worked together,
To develop an outdoor experience to be explored
forever."
"Excited children learn as they play,
In the outdoor environment every day.
Planting seeds to watch vegetables grow,
Happy faces with cheeks that glow."
"A great big thank you to Pendlewood
Your friendliness and expertise was
exceptionally good!"
