Paradigm
Adventure - Childrens playground equipment
Ref:
The Paradigm is Pendlewood's latest Play and Climb structure - and it is guaranteed to redefine natural play.
The
impressive and ambitious design is packed with a number of exciting
physical and mental challenges for the youngsters that will provide them
with endless hours of fun!
The Paradigm is based around 3 towers
with platforms of differing heights. Each has its own unique challenges
and obstacles, while there are activities linking the towers together
too.
Tower 1 has the tallest platform and is also host to an
exciting way to return to the ground - a Curved Ladder! Almost 3 metres
high, it will require a sense of adventure and nerves of steel for the
youngsters to use their skills and strength to negotiate. It will also
provide them with a great opportunity to develop upper body strength
(there is a guard rail on the platform for safety measures too).
Tower 1 links to Tower 2 via a fantastic Rope V-Bridge, which will give the children a real test of their balance skills. Tower 2 also has a Climbing Board that enables the children to climb up and down to the ground from; this comes complete with hand grips and will give the youngsters a chance to combine climbing skills with hand-eye coordination.
Tower 1 and Tower 3 are joined by a Climb Crossing Ladder that will thrill the more adventurous child. Once negotiated they will reach the Tower 3 platform which has a Notched Climbing Log connecting it to the ground - a test of balance if ever there was one!
The Paradigm also has a series of 3 Parallel Bars that are connected to Tower 2. It manages to give the area a creative and imaginative feel too, by including by a role play friendly theme that includes a colourful 'treasure map' based softplay area and several palm trees.
Ticking all the boxes required as part of the Playbuilder and Pathfinder schemes, the Paradigm is natural play at its most worthy, ambitious and exciting.
Redwood (Pinus sylvestris)
Due to Environmental reasons we choose to
use European Redwood. This is one of the hardest softwoods available and is
suitable for exterior usage. It has a natural resilience, and the introduction
of the preservative Tanalith E helps this timber have a greater life span than
some hardwoods - without the negative environmental impact associated with
exotic hardwoods.
Redwood timber is fully grown in 50 years.
It is also harvested and replanted in 50% of the time that it takes a hardwood
tree to reach maturity. All redwood used by Pendlewood is harvested from
sustainable forests.
Tanalith E Pressure Treated
Timber
The treated timber that Pendlewood supply
is pressure treated Tanalith E.
Tanalith E conforms to the efficacy
requirements of BS EN 599-1:19997, and is treated in accordance with the
penetration and retention guidance given in BS EN 351-1:1996 to give a desired
service life in the selected hazard class as defined in BS EN 335-1:11992.
