Robin Hood Towers

School Play and Climb - School Playground Equipment

The Robin Hood Towers are an immense woodland play and climb structure that allow children to have the sort of adventures that are usually only read about!

The stunning design will give children of all ages hours of endless fun and challenges. It comprises of 3 towers of differing heights, which are linked by various challenges, and culminates in a thrilling slide from the tallest of the towers.

Each of the towers has lookout windows, where children can see out round the play area and they are shaped in a unique style to give a fantastical feel. The first two towers are connected by a sloped walkway. As the height increases so too do the challenges, as the second and third towers are connected only by an exciting climbing net, which provides both fun and an opportunity for physical development.

There are also 2 sheltered den areas included in the design. These are great for encouraging creativity and role play and also can act as an area for children to chill out and relax when they have exhausted themselves on the rest of the structure.

The Robin Hood is made from sustainable redwood. This timber is especially suitable for children's play equipment because it is low maintenance and less prone to splinters than hardwoods.

Due to Environmental reasons we choose to use European Redwood. This is one of the hardest softwoods available and is suitable for exterior usage. It has a natural resilience, and the introduction of the preservative Tanalith E helps this timber have a greater life span than some hardwoods - without the negative environmental impact associated with exotic hardwoods.

Redwood timber is fully grown in 50 years. It is also harvested and replanted in 50% of the time that it takes a hardwood tree to reach maturity. All redwood used by Pendlewood is harvested from sustainable forests.
