It's cool - to be Schooled!
The Kew Outside Classroom helps schools to raise standards and close gaps in achievement by freeing up young minds to go beyond the limitations of the traditional classroom, and open up to the natural stimuli and inspiration of outside learning as recommended in the government’s Learning Outside The Classroom Manifesto.
Unique, well designed and easy to install, The Kew brings learning to life by deepening young people’s understanding of nature and the environment, stimulating their desire to learn, boosting their attainment and improving their personal development.
Made from sustainable timbers from managed forests, The Kew is environmentally friendly, affordable, long lasting and a pleasure to own. It requiries no planning permission. It has the added advantage of making better use of school grounds.
Chris Marriott, headteacher of Brentnall Primary School, Salford had this to say:
“The children think it is wonderful. We have a creative installation as part of our outdoor education activities, to create learning environments that are free of walls, such as The Kew area. These activities help to develop the imagination of our pupils and enhance personal and social skills.
Being outside, opens up possibilities and creative thinking. The teachers are as excited as the pupils. I think all schools should have one.”
